DISCOGRAPHY
Now, there are some things you must know
- What I make available here, I do so freely. I have given my reasons for creating SPACE-O-JUKE elsewhere. I am interested in promoting this particular material. I make it available freely for that purpose.
- This is not a complete presentation by any stretch of the imagination> This is a narrow timefreme: 5 years and a narrow piece of that: the ones I especially liked. For instance. You will not find Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman, Mean Woman Blues or Pretty Papers I didn't care for them enough to put them here though they did fall in the timeframe. Blue Byou neither fell in the period nor did I like it that much (All Roy's stuff was at least OK). On the ohter hand, I'd love to put Anything You Wnat. I loved it to pieces. but 1988!?! No shot! Ditto Gene Pitney who's It Hurts to Be In Love (1964 or 5) was as good as anything here. On the other hand, there are some songs that were just such monsters of the time that I have to put them here. I disliked more than liked Branda Lee's I'm Sorry and Emotions but it was sooo big that I'll put it here when I put in the Brenda Lee material.
- I got these somewhere. the copies I used came from the public library
- They may or may not be under copyright. In either case, they ought not be. Anything over 40 years old (that's two generations!) or the creators of which are no longer alive ought be public domain; freely reproduced as long as its creator(s) are crdited with it. The original limits on patents and copyrights were put there to keep the uncreative from profitting from what was not their work, to make things available to be material to be created from and made better and become part of the general culture. BUT If they are not things that I put here from my personal collection (I plan to convert the material on my old records here to augment what is here already), someone went through the time, trouble and expense of recording them and marketing them. They deserve to be compensated for that and that is what the marketplace is there for. On the other hand they put much more material in the pools that I took it from. By no means do I have all of Roy Orbison's greates hits. only those that either I liked or could not ignore. The same with the Shirelles: I did not care for THIS IS DEDICATED TO THE ONE I LOVE but to exclude it would be to exclude a major item. If you wish to look beyond what is here, then it's out there. One can look at this collection as an appetizer. Some who visit here will find that they like what they se...er...hear and want more of it.
- None of what is here is to be used directly for commericial purposes such as part of a sales package
- As long as such is free or not part of a commercial endeavor, it may be traded (reproduced and given in exchange for similar goods) and I do ecourage this and would like to be part of such This way new material can be added but it ought be documented (who and when and what source)
